Saturday 20th September – Windsurf ** The Dip at Felixstowe – mainly cloudy.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt 5.75.

There was a good forecast today with an increasing breeze from the south which gave me time to do my exercises and after we had lunch in the garden I decided to go to check the conditions, with a few going to The Dip I decided to try there for a change. Arriving at the beach around 1.30 in nice sunshine with a nice breeze from meaning I actually rigged my 5.75, by the time I had my I got my suit on the wind had dropped, Ian a winger wa snow ready to go and set off with his 5m wing but he is a lightweight and it was marginal so I sat on the beach and waited hoping it would pick! Some nice gusts appeared which tempted me out, I did have a few nice runs in a lovely swell over towards the shingle banks, I did have some adventures, first I hit another fish which put me in the water, I got too close to the shingle and grazed my foil and once again hit Walton fort after gybing near the beach, highlight of the session was when I spotted a seal in the surf! With the wind easing right back I wobbled in, I was tempted out again by another gust but that was short lived and it turned very light so time to call it a day. So a pretty poor session in very up and down wind, shame really as there was a good sea to play in! It did pick up quite strong as it got dark, tomorrows forecast in from the North and we are having the Granddaughter for the day so no sailing but hope to go to te Stour on Monday?
